Immuki Island

Immuki Island is a hidden gem for tourists, offering pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs ideal for snorkeling and diving.

Immuki Island is a peaceful and beautiful place in Barangay Paraoir, Balaoan, La Union. Even though it's called an island, it’s really made up of shallow pools and lagoons formed by coral rocks. These pools have clear, clean water where you can swim and see small fish and plants. Around the area, you’ll also find mangrove trees that make the place feel calm and fresh.

The name “Immuki” comes from a local word that describes a sea creature.

People say the shape of one of the lagoons looks like a certain part of the body, which is where the name comes from. It’s a fun fact that many locals know.

Visitors are required to register at the Paraoir Barangay Hall before accessing the island. The island is open daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. To maintain its pristine condition, bringing food, alcohol, drinks, and cigarettes to the island is strictly prohibited. Due to sharp coral surfaces, wearing aqua shoes or water socks is mandatory. While diving is discouraged, visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and exploring the lagoons.

Natural Features

Two-tier Waterfall: The upper level of the falls is smaller and calmer, often used as a chill-out area. The main lower tier, however, is more dramatic and photogenic.

Natural Lagoon: The pool at the bottom is deep and perfect for a refreshing dip. Locals recommend life jackets for safety, especially for non-swimmers.

Lush Jungle Trails: The hike to the falls offers glimpses of wildlife, fresh mountain air, and views of rice paddies and river crossings.

Caves and Rock Formations: Behind the cascade is a small natural cave that can be accessed via bamboo raft.
